Connected room-by-room renovations in Vermont South.

Mel One renovates Vermont South interiors, kitchens, bathrooms and connected exterior areas with clear handover points between rooms. The aim is to complete useful parts of the home in a sensible order, while protecting the facilities, garden routes and finishes that remain in use.

Identify the work shared by more than one room.

A kitchen floor may continue through a hallway, a bathroom doorway may meet the same passage, and a living-room update may reach the garden entrance. We identify those links before dividing the renovation into separate room prices. Retained rooms and original features are distinguished from the surfaces being renewed. The agreed result determines which parts can finish independently and which junctions need to be completed together.

Protect the rooms and garden routes that stay in use.

Preparation sets the work boundary, protects retained surfaces and establishes where materials and waste move through the property. A usable bathroom, household route or outdoor area is considered before a stage removes access to it. Retained planting and shade are not treated as spare storage space. If proposed external work affects trees or their surroundings, the relevant assessment and property-specific requirements remain separate from ordinary room preparation.

Renew each stage from its support to its final fittings.

A kitchen stage can include selected cabinet removal, wall repair, new storage, worktops and finishes. A bathroom stage can require removal to suitable backing and an appropriate wet-area system before tiles and fixtures. Living areas may need lining repairs, floor transitions and decoration where those rooms connect. Structural, electrical, plumbing and other regulated tasks must have appropriate responsible practitioners, with their work sequenced before dependent finishes are closed.

Hand back a completed area before shifting the work zone.

At each agreed stage, we review cabinet and door operation, repaired surfaces, service and fixture checks and the transition to retained rooms. Temporary protection is moved only where the next stage allows it. The final review follows the connected route through the home, including any exterior junction in the contract. Remaining adjustments and deliberately deferred items are recorded, so a room-by-room approach does not leave unrelated gaps between several nearly finished spaces.

Before you get started

Should all rooms be renovated at once?

We plan the sequence around the home’s layout, connected work and living arrangements. Completing related rooms together can reduce repeated work at shared surfaces; staging can keep essential facilities available where the site and work allow it. We discuss those dependencies before agreeing which rooms are completed together.

Can the kitchen be finished before the hallway floor is renewed?

It can be possible, but cabinet support, floor height and the final boundary need to be resolved beforehand. Finishing one room without considering the connecting floor can create a gap or require later disturbance to work that appeared complete.

Does a whole-home plan mean replacing every original item?

No. The scope can retain sound rooms, useful fittings and valued features while renewing selected areas. Protection and repair limits should identify what stays. A connected plan concerns how the work meets, not an assumption that everything in the house must be removed.
